Seiko SKX | August 1998, lightly customized, clean

Everyone knows that the SKX line is Seiko's absolute classic.  Most folks think of the SKX007 first, but this SKX171 has it beat.  

Why?  Because this is one of the few SKX models to have applied indices.  Instead of being painted on the dial, they're raised and filled with lume.  This adds a neat detail to the dial, and increases how brightly the indices glow.

This watch has been tastefully customized.  The stock mineral crystal was replaced with a flat sapphire, and the bezel and insert were switched out for something a bit less HR Geiger (go look at a stock SKX171 if you want to see what I mean).  That said, if you get a hankering to change it back, the original bezel and insert are included.  

Hell, change it up even more.  In addition to the sharkskin strap that the watch is pictured on, you'll also get a NOS Seiko Z22 rubber strap, and a MiLTAT Endmill bracelet.  Tons of looks all wrapped into one neat package.

The case is 42mm in diameter, 45.5mm lug to lug, and 14.5mm thick.  

This watch sports Seiko's automatic 7S26 movement, and is running strong.
