Custom Lassale Tank | January 1988, oil slick dial, articulated lugs

This watch started its life as a Lassale Tank, and was probably worn by a white collar worker in Japan in the late 80's.  Then it got to my shop.  Cue evil laughter.

I disassembled the watch and removed the original dial finish.  What happened next is a bit of a blur - chemicals, heat, abrasives?  I don't remember, but what remains is a dial that's reminiscent of an oil slick, with golds, reds, browns, blues, and greens depending on the light.  It plays really nciely with the applied gold indices, and gold dauphine hands.  Like other Lassale watches, this hour hand has the Lassale name engraved on it.  

The case is super slim, gold plated and rectangular...everything looks pretty normal until you get to the lugs.  They're articulated, which means they have an additional hinge that helps the strap of the watch fit your wrist more comfortably.  I've actually even put this watch on a perlon strap, which sounds insane, but it works.  The case is somewhat beat.  This is a true rat watch, and not for the faint of heart.
