I've always got my eye out for these Rado "Polo" style watches - this full gold variant is absolutely wonderful.
This watch is made of yellow gold plated stainless steel. The case is fully barked (outside of the caseback) and the bracelet is barked on top. The back of the bracelet is smooth.
The entire case and bracelet feature horizontal banding in gold - very Piaget-esque.
The case is 26mm wide, 31mm lug to lug, and ~5mm thick. 19mm shrouded lugs secure the bracelet. Check the video to see how it fits on my 6.75” wrist - I don't think it would fit anyone larger than me.
The white dial is misleading - at first it looks plain, but then it catches the light and you can see that it's full of little sparkles. The black, printed Romans offer a very cool contrast and they absolutely pop. The blue stone that’s inset into the gold crown is unblemished.
The case of this watch is in pretty good condition - the corners show some darkening (which is common with older gold plate). The bracelet is super clean with no chips, discoloration, or other issues that I can see.
All in all, this may be one of my favorite Rado Polo variants. The sparkle dial, the contrasty Romans, and the gold case just come together to make an absolutely fantastic watch.
The watch runs on an ETA quartz movement that’s keeping time accurately.
