It's taking everything in me to list this watch and not keep it in my personal collection - it's that good.

There are a ton of Santos homages out there.  Good ones (like this) and bad ones (check out the Rado "Santos" to see what I mean).  So what makes this one good?

Let's start with the dial.  We've got applied gold Romans at 12 and 6, sitting in a creamy white outer field.  You'd think that this would stop you from being able to tell the time, but - surprise - the bezel has slots for every hour marker/every 5 minutes.  It's a really nice, subtle detail that Citizen obviously considered.  The entire dial has a subtle textured pattern.

The case here is stainless steel and asymmetrical, featuring built-crown guards that don't stick out at first glance.  The crown is gold and easy to manipulate.  The gold motif continues on the previously mentioned Roman indices, the handset, and the bracelet screws.

I see these occasionally, but I don't think I've come across this dial variation before.  Moreover, these are usually missing screws somewhere - the bezel, caseback, or bracelet.  This watch is fully intact.

The watch does show signs of wear.  There are rubs, swirls, and scratches here and there.  The crystal has some scratches at 1 o'clock.  That said, I think this is one of those watches that looks better when it has some wear on it (just like a Santos).

This is a cool watch for someone who values subtle detail and a pinch of rarity.

Running well on a new battery.  Bracelet will fit a wrist up to nearly 8".
